A:  I'm not aware of an extender made for a drill press but you can try one made for a drill/driver.

        by|Jun 7, 2021

A:  The shank on the bit I have measures 0.371". That means you need a 3/8" bit extender. Lots of companies make bit extenders (e.g., Bosch, Rockler, Milwaukee), but you need to make sure you get one for 3/8" shank and not 1/4".

Q:Can you add an extension on the end to drill deeper than 3”?

        Answer This Question

A:  Yes. However, this bit has a 5/16" straight shank so it would have to be an extension that can firmly hold a straight shank bit. Also, the quality and size of the hole may be slightly outside the usual tolerance as the extension increases the runout of the bit.
