A: I think that you need to give the rock room to expand, at least a little bit. This stuff pushes outward and creates a "fault" in the rock. if you don't drill the hole big/deep enough into the rock, the material will push "up" instead of "out", or it will pop like a rocket (which happened to me a few times). If the material around the rock will give a little bit, the Dexpan should be able to crack the rock.

A: Depending on the size of the rock. It makes it easier to pull rock apart once it is done splitting. Dig before or after it doesn't matter.

A: My granite rock was 8ft x 5ft and 5ft deep, only 2ft was above ground. Dexpan cracked it. Just to be sure It was all the way thru, I put a wedge in the crack and hit it with a sledge. This opened the crack from 1/4" to over an inch and it was split completely thru.

A: If you are using the right temperature product then you shouldn’t have any issues. You may end up drilling again to break remaining rock.
by|May 11, 2023
A: That will not cause any problems. If anything it will be more likely to get nice large cracks between the holes for easier removal

A: No really sure, but I would make the distance between the holes closer than the recommended distance to make up for the difference in thinner bit.

A: Yes. But don't drill as far as 2 1/2". Because the mixture needs to have concrete all around it to work properly.

A: Based on the dimensions above you are looking at (2x) 11lb. buckets. Do not need to fill all the way to rim of hole.
As far as safe for underwater wildlife depending on whether the waterways your looking to use the product in is a on flowing stream? But we do have waterway testing documentation for State and Wildlife Dept. Our testing was done in Canada due to their laws being way stricter than those in USA. If you would like this documentation and also a sample design as well feel free to call in and speak to Michael Martinez.
Thank you,

A: I highly recommend 1-1/2" diameter for any application. That is the diameter we stand behind.
