A: I did not actually measure the barrel housing. but this unit perfectly fits into the barrel. Typically, the diameter is a standard measurement. sometimes, depth can vary by 1/8th of an inch. Padding it with used gum is one of the best solutions as per my builder. but i did not have to use it.

A: I used a screwdriver to loosen it, like the rim of a paint can and my thumb for the sleeve. Be sure to use a rubber mallet and hit
gently to push it down.

A: I was able to pull it up with my finger and then with pliers pulled it clear out. Yours may be in tighter. On the old part the steel ball had popped out making pulling out the insides easy. The surrounding housing came out too after more work.

A: Thanks for your question. To remove a Design House ball catch, a stiff putty knife would work best to start, gently pry up the edges of the ball catch while rocking the putty knife side-to-side, then continue same actions while alternating sides until you loosen it up enough to pull straight up and out of top of door by hand or with pliers.

A: Hi and thanks for your question. Based on your description, it appears that the ball catch is threading upward over a period of use to cause the door to jam and be 'stuck'. Best recommendation is that a 'threadlock' adhesive such as Loctite that is available at your local Home Depot store location be utilzed to hold catch in place once adjusted properly, to then eliminate the up-threading movement.

A: Try removing the mechanism and wrapping the screw threads with white plumbing tape and resetting it back in at the desired height.

A: 1-1/16" from bottom of bezel to bottom of cylinder
(add 1/16" for the bezel - so 1-1/8" from top of bezel to bottom of cylinder)
