A:  so this is a slide wall shower valve? so you are going to put this where the shower head is and have it hang 9" longer then put on the shower head? - both ends are threaded so it work - might look rather odd. You can also use chrome and use alittle steel wool - it will make it look stainless. See if you can buy it without the "flange".... thanks - Plumbers wife

A:  This is double male. One side screws into the shower elbow in the wall or ceiling, the other end mounts the shower head.

A:  I Needed the same thing - never found one so I bought a threaded connector which was able to fit inside the ceiling with no problem. Hope this helps.

A:  Hi Len, Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # U4999 does not mount to the ceiling. It will mount to an elbow that is coming through your ceiling from your water supply. Thanks. Jody

A:  You'd put a regular shower elbow in, or whatever female fitting you're putting in the ceiling. This simply screws into the female fitting you install on the end of your water feed. The photo and description are misleading--that isn't a mounting flange that screws into the sheet rock. that is simply a friction fit escutcheon like behind your sink or toilet. The other end of the pipe looks EXACTLY like the one you're seeing in the photo.
