A: CAMama,
Thank you for your question! These items will be all you need for this setup, except that you will need the 6-Setting/3-Port Diverter Trim model T11953-SS instead of the 3-Setting/2-Port Diverter Trim T11853-SS.

A: Hi, Teri!
Thank you for your question and I am sorry that you're having difficulty with your Delta diverter unit. We recommend to check your installation to make sure you plumbed the hand shower and shower head to the top and left ports of the diverter body instead of the the right port. If the right port was used, you would need to replumb the shower unit to the left port and plug the right port or you can purchase a 6-setting diverter cartridge, RP51919. Here is a link to the cartridge: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Delta-6-Setting-Diverter-Cartridge-in-Chrome-RP51919/203723982?keyword=RP51919

Q:what are the differences between the 3-setting and 6-setting diverter?

Answer This Question
A: Thanks for your question, JB! A 3-setting diveter will allow you to switch between 2 components (with a shared function). A 6-setting diverter will allow you to switch between 3 components with 3 shared functions (A, A+B, B, B+C, C, C+A). -Jon

A: Hi Kris,
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # T11853 is only recommended to be used with a Delta Faucet diverter rough-in valve. We recommend model R11000. We do not suggest it with our competitor's products as we have not tested it with them and cannot guarantee that it will function properly.
Thanks.

Q:I will be installing the shower (T17253-SS), handshower (57530-SS), and a non-diverting tub spout (RP48333). Will this diverter work for the tub spout? I'm trying to keep my install clean and would like to use this diverter to control whether the water should be at the tub, shower, or handshower instead of using a pull up diverter.

A: Hi NanC, Thank you for your question. The installation you are describing will not work with your Delta Faucet model # T11853-SS but you can make it work with the six function 3 port diverter which is model T11953-SS. Also when using this you will have two positions where you will have your tub spout on with another function like the showerhead or the handshower.
Thanks.

A: Hi John,
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # T11853-RB can be used whether you have a tub spout or a shower only faucet. This is used when you are adding one extra feature to your shower set-up like a handheld showerhead, a set of jets, or a raincan showerhead. If you are going to add more than one feature, then we recommend purchasing T11953-RB. This will allow you to add two extra features. Both trims will use the rough-in valve model R11000.
Thanks.

A: HI Lucy,
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # T11853-RB is used when you are going to add one extra feature to your tub/shower or shower combination like a handheld shower. If you are going to add two extra features like a handheld shower and a raincan showerhead, then you will need a 6 setting diveter trim like the T11953-RB. Both of these diverter trims will use the same rough-in diverter valve which is model R11000.
Thanks.
