Q:I have the Cicero Single-Handle Pull-Out Sprayer Kitchen Faucet with Soap Dispenser in Chrome. My problem is that I can not move it sideways to use it. It is very hard, sometimes impossible to move the faucet, it keeps on getting this black tar inside of the base, maybe be it is keeping the faucet from turning. We have been having this problem for about one year. I have been unable to remove it because the nut under it is frozen and can not be removed.

A:  Hi, Chuck! Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue with your Delta faucet. Both issues of the faucet being hard to turn and the hose being hard to pull out can stem from the hose catch on an object under the sink. Please check and reroute the hose as best you can. Best Regards, Rosanna

A:  I installed mine about three months ago and it is working great. Are you sure that the hose for the faucet is not getting tangled in something under your sink?

A:  The pressure is controlled by handle. Barely open provides low pressure, whereas with handle in full open position you will get maximum pressure.

A:  Assuming you have the newer 468-DST type faucet and not the older ball/washer/springs type: to diagnose the problem: these steps are quite easy: under the sink, turn both the cold & hot water supply lines "off"; turn your faucet to the "on" position hot/cold to relieve pressure in the lines; now remove the faucet handle, unscrew the the trim around the cartridge, use a crescent wrench to remove the cartridge; now remove the "hub assembly" (faucet base) should pull straight up & out, it is not threaded/secured in any way---take care not to let the faucet spray hose slip down under the sink. Now the base of the faucet inlet should be exposed with three holes looking up at you: one each for hot/cold water inlet and one for the outgoing flow to the faucet hose. Place a bucket upside-down over these holes along with some rags here/there. Next, under the sink, turn the hot water side back "on". Normally, hot water would spurt/flow into the bucket. If hot water is NOT coming out, then you know the problem is NOT the cartridge. Rather, the problem lies either in the hot water supply leading to the shut-off valve, the shut-off valve or the line leading from the shut-off valve to the base of the faucet inlet. If you DO have have hot water flowing into the bucket, then the problem is probably the cartridge. Call Delta and they will (probably) send you a new cartridge for free. (With the 3 holes exposed, this procedure can also to use to check for a blockage in the hose which leads into the wand. Disconnect/unscrew the hose from the wand, place a clear receptacle (drinking glass, etc.) upside-down over the three holes; now blow into the end of hose. water should spurt out of the third hole. see any debris? after all of the water is pushed out of the hose, you should be able to easily blow air from the end of the hose up thru the hole in the base. If you cannot, figure out a way to force air from the third hole back thru the hose (reversing the process perhaps using a length of tubing from mouth-to-hole, a bicycle pump, air compressor). If something is still blocked: under the sink, you will see where the hose connects to the line leading up to the third hole. It should have a metal bracket (which prevents an accidental disconnect) around the connection. Pop/snap off the bracket, now pull/twist down on the hose connector, it should separate from the connection. Now blow into the hose. Still blocked? Now blow into the third hole. Still blocked? If you still have problems, call Delta or post here and I will respond.

A:  Double check the hot water turn off valve under the sink. It is usually on the left side. Turn the knob to the left, counter clockwise.

A:  Thank you for your question and I apologize that you are having an issue with your Delta Faucet model # 468-SD-DST. The first thing to check is that the hot water line is turned on underneath your sink and there there is not a blockage. If it is on, then it could be the cartridge. We recommend contacting our Home Owner/Warranty line at 800-345-3358 for further troubleshooting. Thanks. Jody

A:  Thank you for your question and I apologize that you are having an issue with your Delta Faucet model # 468-SD-DST. The spout wand will unscrew from the hose. You may need to soak the hose in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and cold water to remove any mineral deposits that may have accumulated inside the hose. If this does not fix the issue, you can contact our warranty line for replacement if you are the original owner. Thanks. Jody
