Q:Can this faucet be used as a deck mounted faucet on a free standing bathtub?
by|Apr 3, 2020

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your question, Remodeler! Delta model 598LF-PNMPU is a WaterSense certified lavatory faucet designed to produce only a 1.2 GPM flow rate which is not advisable for a tub installation. Instead, we would recommend a Cassidy Roman Tub Trim and valve.

Q:Does water sit in spout and cause water stains when faucet is shut off??

Answer This Question
A: Hi jjc,
Thank you for your question. Sometimes water can sit at the spout once water is shut off. If you see water building up, we recommend wiping the excess water off with a soft cloth. Here are some cleaning and care instructions for all Delta faucets:
Always blot dry any water from faucet surface. Allowing water to evaporate on the surface can lead to build up of mineral deposits. Cleaning with a damp non-abrasive sponge and buffing it dry with a clean soft cloth should help keep your product looking beautiful. To remove water spots, use warm water and a soft, damp cloth. Hard water stains may be removed using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Make certain that you rinse thoroughly with water afterward.
If additional cleaning is required, all of our finishes may be cleaned with the following household cleaners: Formula 409® Antibacterial All Purpose Cleaner, Fantastik® All Purpose Cleaner, or Windex® Original Glass Cleaner, when used according to the manufacturers' instructions for use.
Avoid using the following which can damage your finish:
Avoid industrial cleaners and abrasive cleaners, such as those used for toilet bowls, green Scotch-Brite heavy duty scrub sponges, Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner and Lysol Basin Tub, Soft Scrub, and Tile Cleaner. Avoid products that state on the label that they remove tarnish and rust, and those containing hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and/or phosphoric acids and caustic agents. Avoid harsh abrasives or polishes Avoid bleach-based cleaners.

Rosanna

A: Sorry, I just saw this question but will answer it for future shoppers. Our spouts stay pristine but we have very soft, high quality city water. We are moving to a house with well water that already has one spout-style Kohler faucet in the guest bathroom. I can see a faint hint of calcium around the edge where the water sits, but I do not find it problematic. We are going to install two more of these Delta Cassidy spout faucets in the master bathroom because we know how awesome they are. Even if I have to scrub it, it will be well worth it to me. We also have the polished nickel finish which also stays pristine.

A: Thank you for your question, Bev! We recommend having 2 1/2" from the backsplash to the center of the installation hole. The 3-hole escutcheon plate is included.

A: I'd recommend a sink with a basin that has a 12" opening front to back or more, such as a standard round sink or large rectangle/oval. It will not work on a smaller powder room size sink. For example, I could not use on a rectangle that has a 9" opening.

Q:Do all the water lines come with the faucet? In other words am I going to have to purchase further supplies for this faucet?

A: Hi Savannahdc,
Thank you for your question. This faucet has copper supply lines with standard 1/2" NPSM adapters. You will need additional riser hoses to connect the faucet to the shut-off valves under the sink.

A: The fixture has short copper pipes that are about 6-8" long and does not come wth the flex hoses that you connect between them and the water feeds on your wall that have the shutoff valve. You should be able to re-use the hoses you have if you are replacing an existing faucet. If it is a new build then you will need to buy the hoses, and length will depend on how far the feeds are from the fixture pipe ends, so perhaps best to purchase once you have the faucet.
