Q:Will this trim kit work with my ~1999 Delta Monitor shower? If not, what is the model # of a stainless steel finish trim kit that will, without replacing the rough-in? Also, what is the part # for the replacement value that will fit the existing rough-in? Thanks.

A: Hi MCF,
Thank you for your question! This trim kit will work with an existing 1300/1400 series rough-in valve. Please be sure to use the original cartridge, or RP19804, rather than the cartridge that comes with the trim kit.
However, it will not work with the valve for another series. If you have another series or are not sure what series you have, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-345-3358 or email customerservice@deltafaucet.com. We would be more than happy to help!
Best regards,
Jon

A: Dear Reese,
Thank you for your question! The Delta Windemere Shower trim BT14296-SS, will work with an existing 13/1400 series shower. However, you will need to use the existing (original) cartridge assembly. The cartridge that comes with the trim kit will not work with pre-MultiChoice (2006 - present) valves. If the older style cartridge assembly (Before 2006) is needed, part number RP19804.

Q:Can this be used to replace the 1500 series chrome that I currently have? I don't want to re-do the plumbing, only the trim.

A: Hi MJ,
Thank you for your question. The Delta BT14296-OB trim can not be used on a 1500 series. If your screw hole positions on your escutcheon plate ( face plate) are at 1 & 7 you can use RP29405 conversion kit shown on the Delta website or and T17 trim shown on the website. If you use a T17 trim you must purchase or have a new style RP32104 valve cartridge (will not be able to use your existing 1500 series cartridge) and RP22734 bonnet nut. These pieces are included with the RP29405 conversion kit. Please contact 1-800-345-3358 or customerservice@deltafaucet.com with additional questions.

Q:Im attempting to resurface my existing shower and would like to replace my shower head and faucet. If I'm not replacing the shower can I still replace the valve if needed or would I need to cut a larger hole in the fiberglass?

A: Hi Merebear,
Thanks for your question! This trim will work with an existing 1400 series Delta shower or any R10000 rough-in valve. If you are replacing the valve, you will need a access inside the wall from the front or back. We recommend a 4" x 4" square hole for the R10000 rough-in.

Q:i have several 1400 monitor shower/tub units I want to swap out for oil rubbed bronze trim models. I can see by the answers to other questions that this may be possible. I can't find a model number on my valve to confirm which ones I have. My house was built in 1999-2000 and the units are single knob items with off being all the way right and on turning counter clockwise from cold to hot. I believe I should qualify however my cartridge seems to stick out more than that of the newer model so I need to know if I need a different cartridge and if so which model number?
I am attaching 2 pictures of the value.

A: Hi Gregg, Thank you for your question!
You can use any current trim that starts with T13 or T14. For example if you see a model BT14296-OB or T14255-RB you will be able to use those models. However, you will not be able to use the new multi choice valve cartridge that comes with the new trims. You will need to use your existing RP19804 valve cartridge.

A: Had that problem before. My problem was solved by replacing the cartridge behind the handle.
