Q:Can this be used as a return air vent? I currently have the 12 X 6 1" slab returns, it seems like this will fir in the hole, but dont really need a dampner, would like to find a dedicated return

A:  Yes, it may be used as a return vent, however it may not be strong enough for use on the floor. Mike

A:  Yes. There are two plastic tabs at one end of the register, which allow you to open and close the damper box.

    A:  The outside dimensions are 13.5 in x 7.5 in. The damper box dimensions are approx. 11.75 in x 5.75 in. The thickness of the wood register is approx 3/8 in.

              A:  Is is kind of thick, about 1/2 inch. I used them in my living room ceiling and they definitely stick down a little, but still look good.

                  Q:I would expect to see a lever protruding outside, one which can be used to open/close/adjust the damper, but I don't see one in the photo of this product. How does one adjust the open/close position of the dampers?
