Questions and Answers for DecoArt Americana Decor 8 oz. Clear Creme Wax

A:  I was able to cover approx 25sqft w/ the wax. However, my project called for 3coats. So, 75sqft give or take.

A:  Coverage for our 8oz Creme Wax is estimated at 40 sq ft for one-coat application. DecoArt Paint Guru

A:  Our waxes are water-based, lead-free and non-toxic and are cruelty-free. We do not test on animals or plants. However, we do not consider this product to be food -safe. -DecoArt Paint Guru

A:  Yes, it should assist with the sticking. We would recommend that you let it dry completely - 24-48 hrs - and then buff it with a soft cotton cloth to assist with smooth ingress and egress of the drawer. -DecoArt Paint Guru

A:  It certainly should help and would be a cheap first step before resorting to sanding.

A:  You can tint the creme wax with no more than 20% of a color, however the color will not be as vibrant as the actual color when mixed with the creme, it will have more of a pastel look.

A:  Yes. You can paint over Americana Decor Creme Wax without having to sand as long as the Wax is fully cured. It takes 14 days after painting the wax on the piece for it to fully cure.

A:  I don’t think so. It’s a wax coating that will inhibit a layer of paint from adhering. A heat gun and a good rag will remove most of it, then a light sanding and you should be good to go

A:  I would not use this wax over an enamel paint. I would use one of the Americana Decor Vanishes instead. We have several different finishes available.

A:  Although our products are water based and bear the AP Seal, I would not recommend for a sealant for a baby.

A:  Hi Caroline. The clear creme wax provides a protective coating for the paint. Chalk Paint dries to a super matte finish and on high traffic areas, has a tendency to pick up fingerprints and smudges. You should not have a chipping issue once the paint is fully cured.
