A:  It's not a mesh back but the tiles are all connected and can go up on the wall in a "sheet". It seems like glue dots holding each tile to each other. You can easily cut through the glue to separate them if you want

However, porcelain tile is the least absorbent in the ceramic family, making it an ideal choice for kitchen and bathroom flooring.

A:  I wouldn't use them as floor tiles.... they seem to break pretty easily.
