A:  12"- spacing on this product.

A:  We are not sure of the question, but if you refer to spacing, this is the distance that you will have between each drip emitter or outlet. DIG

        Answer This Question

A:  can you add it to existing hoses

        by|Sep 1, 2020

A:  You have to run it off of a 1/2" hose. You use a hole punch(I have the deluxe hole punch. The cheaper one is more possible to hit the other side and damage the 1/2" hose. Which if you remove the little blue adapter, you can punch the 5/8" hose line, as well. Here is the link, to the deluxe version. Huge difference in how easy it is to use, versus the cheaper version(You also get what you pay for.). http://www.homedepot.com/p/Deluxe-Hole-Punch-16-035R/100201515), to make a small hole, to pop the straight barbed 1/4" line connector in to it(Here is the link, for those, as well. http://www.homedepot.com/p/DIG-1-4-in-Barb-Connectors-50-Pack-H80B/100112605). Here is the link, for the "T"s as well. (http://www.homedepot.com/p/DIG-1-4-in-Barb-Tees-50-Pack-H82B/100202006) and here are for the ends(Also goof holes punched, when not needed. http://www.homedepot.com/p/DIG-Goof-Plugs-20-Pack-G79B/100126681). Here is the link, for the solid line, that you can use to run the soaker hose over just where you want it, instead of out to where you need it, so it keeps a good amount of pressure, as well. (http://www.homedepot.com/p/DIG-1-4-in-x-100-ft-Poly-Tubing-B38100P/204184721). Now, remember, this is only 1/4" hose, which means it is small and only a small amount of water can get through it. So, you really should not "spider web" this line, if you need it to get to longer distances, then 20'. Ok, back to how to connect to a faucet(Outdoor faucets.). There is a special connection to the 1/2" hose line, that has an end, just like that of a regular hose. You run the 1/2" hose to where you need it, or at least close to there, then pop those small holes(Remember to keep it cool, before popping the hole. If the hose is warm/hot, then you will need to cool it down, before doing so, or the hose may not want to stay sturdy and pop too big of a hole! To quickly cool it off, just run the water through it.), to use the straight or even the "T" barbed connectors(Ohhh also, the "T" barbs make it easy to use the soaker hose, to make "rings", that you can use around the base of bushes and trees, to keep them soaked and water just that area. Best to make it with a minimum of 3 driplet spots!), or even the 90 degree versions. Then you can turn the water on and get it going! BTW, best to use 1 hole, for every 1-4 adjustable sprayers and for the soaker hose, 1 hole from the 1/2" line, for up to 20' of 1/4" soaker hose line! Hope all of this helps anyone just getting started, to at least have an idea on which way to go! Have fun!

A:  This is a drip line that has a .52 GPH drip emitter every 12 inches. You can connect this drip line to the faucet using one of the two options with option not recommended.. Recommended option: Use pressure regulator, part # D46 and connect it to the faucet. Use part # C37B, 3/4 inch FHT adapter and connect a section of 1/4 inch micro tubing, part # B38 for 50 feet into this 3/4 inch, FHT x 1/4 inch compression adapter. Connect the 3/4 inch adapter to the pressure regulator. Run the micro tubing to the area where you will use the 1/4 inch drip line. Connect the drip line into the micro tubing using a 1/4 inch barb , part # H80A for pack of 10. Turn the water on and flush the line. Close the end of the 1/4 inch drip line with goof plug, part # G79B. turn the system on and enjoy a nice operating system. To automate, use ond of DIG battery operated or solar powered timer. Option 2 not recommended: Connect the drip line directly into the adapter with the pressure regulator. DIG

A:  There are a number of methods. The one I use most is to put a small hole in 1/2 black, flexible inch PVC tubing with a special hole punch made for that purpose (about $5.) Then you insert a locking connector fitting in the hole (about 1 inch long by 1/4 in dia), and press the tubing over the other end of the connector. Once the connector is inserted in the 1/2 inch tube, it cannot be removed. If not needed, the only thing to do is put a very short tube on it with a blocking fitting inserted in the open end of the tubing.

A:  two things you will need. First a pressure reducer (25 PSI hose thread regulator) it has a hose thread on both ends (female and male). Connect this to your outdoor faucet. You will also need a 3/4 inch female hose thread swivel with compression adapter. This connects your pressure reducer to your distribution pipe. Connect your distribution pipe to your compression adapter by shoving the open end of the distribution pipe into the open end of the compression adapter (about 3/4 inch), then just attach the other end of the compression adapter (the 3/4 female hose fitting) to the pressure reducer that you have already screwed onto the outdoor faucet. (it is easier than it sounds, takes about 30 seconds). Depending on your local regulations, you may need a back flow preventer. The pressure reducer and the back flow preventer run about $3.50 and the compression adapter is about $1.50.

A:  This particular product isn't designed for that application unless you have made all the necessary adaptations. You might want to look at the link I have provided, maybe you'll find something more appropriate for your needs. http://www.digcorp.com/uploads/download/file_us/15/DripGuide_032117-Web.pdf Hope this helps.

A:  Yes. Just use the straight barbed connectors.

A:  Sure, just snip it half way between the emitters and stick in an end plug (also called a goof plug) in it.

A:  Don't know - the emitters are not continuous as in a soaker but are spaced at about 9-12 inch intervals

A:  Yes but the B18-100 would be a better choice for this purpose.

A:  I just pulled out my foundation sprinklers and replaced them with this drip line. You just have to decide how often you want the emitters (they make the lines with 12 inch, 8 inch and 6 inch). I am also in the process of ripping out all the the soaker hoses and replacing them the drip system (the soaker hoses start to fall apart after a few years -- or if you have a bad batch of soaker hoses in a few months). I have several gardens with the drip irrigation and so far no problems (been in for two years now).

A:  Ok, to answer your question, there are technically 2 answers. Yes/No. Yes, if you are not using the end of the hose, for the last connection to the last adjustable sprayer, or etc. No, if you use an adjustable sprayer at the end of it, or something similar. But beware, if you have to open the sprayer more then a drip, then the back pressure to the line will reduce the amount of water, that drips from the hose, as well.
