Answer This Question
A: Nope, probably need hose bib adapter and pressure reducer

A: This dripline (not actually a soaker hose) can NOT be hooked directly to a garden hose. It requires a pressure reducer, 1/2" tubing, 1/4" connector barbs, etc. Try https://www.homedepot.com/s/soaker for soaker hoses with garden hose connectors.

Q:can this product be buried in the soil ?
by|Feb 14, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: We do not recommend our ¼” dripline be buried as this will clog up the emitters in the line. You can however cover the dripline with mulch or wood chips. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our technical service/product support team at 1-800-322-9146.

Q:What is the max run length by coupling 2 or more of these?
by|Jul 10, 2022

Answer This Question
A: For the SH50 dripline the maximum lateral length at 25 psi is 28 feet. If you need to run longer lateral lengths, I recommend using our ½” dripline model B12100. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact our technical service/product support team at 1-800-322-9146.

Q:If we use a 1/4" Splice Connector with one 1/4" barbed connector into a 1/2" or 3/4" Poly Feeder tube and the other 1/4" barbed connector into one end of a segment of DIG 1/4 in. x 50 ft. Soaker Hose Dripline, then do I need to install a 1/4" Goof Plug into the other end of the DIG 1/4 in. x 50 ft. Soaker Hose Dripline segment?

Answer This Question
A: Yes Water will follow the path of least resistance so most of the water will exit the other end of the 50 ft soaker hose if no plug is used

Q:The english text lists the product as 0.65 GPH, but the Spanish text says 0.5 GPH.

Answer This Question
A: The water flow per emitter is low,no more.than 0.5 gph. I found with hard water, the soaker hose plugs up after one year. I have had better luck with the 1/4 inch tube with individual emitters on a 6-inch interval. These emitters are 0.5 gph but they don't plug up and they work well with vegetable plants in a row The twelve inch interval emitters are too far apart. .

A: Mine drips at .54 gallons per hour , roughly. I go through about 648 gallons per day using the entire line.
by|Jun 12, 2022
A: 0.5 to 0.65 gph depending on water pressure range.
by|Jul 9, 2021
A: Sorry for the confusion, the flow rate of each drip emitter in this dripline does depend on the line pressure. For example at 25 PSI the flow rate will be approximately .65 GPH, and at 15 PSI the flow rate per emitter will be around .52 GPH. Q:Could this be used as a soaker ring under a avacodo tree? I would place it on a 1/4" barb tee connected to a drip manifold.

A: Yes it can be used as airing around a tree.

A: Hello, What your showing 50' Dripline 1/4' tubing is not a soaker hose. It has a drip opening every 12". So water only comes out every 12". I have used it for ground cover plants placing it in the ground around and under the ground cover plants.
I'm not an expert but to do a tree it might not work? Think about how big does a Avocado tree get and how much water does the tree need. Then think about how much water comes out to the drip line then plan on how much hose you have to
wrap around the tree. Then consider volume of water and how long it's on.
Using a drip line or soaker hose offers less evaporation in the air then a sprinkler does which is good..
Talk to a winery or Avocado farmer. Good luck

A: Yes but it might be better to use regular drippers or the actual soaker hose for even distribution of water. The emitters on this unit are spaced every foot and only 1/2GPH.

Q:What's the lowest pressure this will function?
Will it work on a gravity fed system?

Answer This Question
A: The micro tubing can work with gravity feed system and the flow from the micro tubing will depends on the height of the barrel or container and the length of the micro tubing used.

A: Hello JPTexas,
The practical pressure range is 10 - 25 psi. The recommended pressure range is 20 - 25 psi. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

A: The specified minimum operating pressure for the ¼” dripline is 10 psi. It will “function” below that level, but the uniformity will go down and the flow rate will decrease substantially. The dripline will “work” with a gravity flow system, but will work best if the operating pressure is within the 10 to 25 psi range.
