A:  Regarding the quality issues of DIG hose end timer. We have been working very hard to solve the issues reported by customers with the main one related to the solar panel used. We have updated the solar panel, we also updated the valve and we think that we have a better product, but it will be up to you and others to say it. DIG

Q:How do I set the timer for multiple days

                Answer This Question

A:  This is of extreme importance in considering a purchase due to water conservation schedules mandated by various utility agencies. Inexpensive timers traditionally have only been able to alternate; daily, every other day or once a week. If you cannot select particular days of the week as required by mast water conservation agencies, I would not recommend the purchase. If it does offer this feature, then I would recommend the purchase. DIG has been around for many years and is well respected in the Landscape industry. A:  the booklet explains that.

A:  First, the options for watering frequency is weekly or cyclical schedule with odd days, even days or intervals from one to thirty (1- 30) days utilizing 365 days yearly calendar with leap year. Option 1: You can select the program to operate every 1 day or every 2, 3 ,4 and up to 30 days. Option 2: You can select the program to operate on any day of the week you prefer, such as Monday, Wednesday and Friday. To do so, press the center button. Programming: This controller uses seven programming buttons to navigate its LCD icon based display. The controller’s four buttons (left, right, up and down arrows) are used to select or modify a program parameter, the large button in the center is used to select the parameter changed, and move or skip to the next step or icon. The right lower button is used for manual on/off, and the left lower button is used for program off or to stop irrigation when it is raining. DIG

Q:what is the solar output voltage?

                      Answer This Question

A:  The solar cell is very small, and charges a small storage battery. The solenoids IIRC are 12v, so to charge 12v worth of batteries, you would need 14-15 volts or so. The current out put from a cell this size would be measured in mA. However, all of mine went bad. The displays went blank and they won't power on or operate. And they leak. This is a really good idea of a product, but they quality is really bad. If they could make these in a high quality version, I'd buy them, but sadly they are cheap junk. All of mine went into the trash.

A:  Great Question divad. Unfortunately there is no info. either on the box, product or internet. However being that this valve is for turning on and off a timer, I would guess the voltage is very low. Hope this helps. Andy

A:  Not much, just enough to charge a 1.5v battery is my guess, don't have a manual nearby.
