A: This unit and regulator are designed to fully support the use of one impact wrench. Always check the SCFM requirements of the air tools and compare to the SCFM output of the compressor. This unit delivers 7.0 SCFM @ 40 PSI and 5.7 SCFM @ 90 PSI.
A: I use 1/2" DeWalt impact wrench(80-90 PSI) with 3/8" line to rotate tires. Took off all tires and put back on. When putting the 4th tire on, the compressor kicked back on. I was still able to use while compressor was refilling with no issues. As with most compressors, you can connect multiple tools with the right fittings. However, the issue will be how much air your tools are drawing if operating both tools simultaneously. May not be an issue if not being used at same time. If using in autoshop, you will prob need a bigger compressor.
A: The store used a forklift to put it on my trailer and I have a large hand truck. For me it was easy.
A: Reinforced BOX
A: It is shipped in a carton, and the carton is banded to a 40 x 48" pallet for shipping a single unit.
A: The compressor came in a very heavy-duty cardboard box roughly 4 feet high. This is a fairly heavy item; Home Depot helped me lay it down in my pickup. I had aluminum rails that enabled me to slide the box to the ground, then tip the box upright. All that was needed was to remove the box, make sure there were no nails or staples that could puncture the compressor wheels, and I rolled it into my shop. I think I was a bit lucky. The rails were anchored in the truck bed, but there was no way to make sure the "ground" end stayed in place. Also, if there were two people, with a rope, you could control the slide to the ground, and set it upright, take off the cardboard box, check for air in the wheels. and roll it where you wanted it. The main point is that the compressor is heavy and could you could get hurt if things get out of control. For the record, I like the compressor .
A: It was packaged in thick carboard. No issues or damage.
A: Yes, the DeWalt model DXCMLA1983054 is a 30 gallon vertical portable unit with an oil lubed in-line twin cylinder belt drive pump, and an induction 120 volt electric motor.
A: Yes, this model is an oil-lubricated pump
A: The DEWALT 30 Gallon Air Compressor (Model# DXCMLA1983054) is made in the USA.
A: This unit is produced in the USA.
A: minimum would be 24" x 24"
A: I would call the manufacturer for size and weight.
A: The footprint of this compressor is 24.5" wide and has a depth of 22.75" . We would recommend a 30" x 30" pad for the unit to sit on.
A: Check your requirements on the blaster. It should tell you the required SCFM. Compare it to SCFM of the compressor.
A: This 30 gallon compressor delivers 7.0 SCFM @ 40 PSI and 5.7 SCFM @ 90 PSI. Be sure to check the air requirements of your sandblaster to see how much air is required to operate it. Keep in mind that a sandblaster is considered a continuously operating tool that requires a constant air supply to support the blast gun. Depending on the size of your project, the 30 gallon may be large enough if your project is small. If your task involves a larger project you will want to look at a larger compressor to ensure you have sufficient constant air to support the abrasive gun.
A: You would need to compare the recommended air pressure required to operate the blaster to the capacity of the compressor. This information should be available for both in the operating spec's for each system.
A: I don't think it will fill up fast enough
A: I bought 2 of these compressors for my work van. I own a mobile interior restoration franchise and have 3 guys working out of the van, and I use 2 compressors so that I'm not over working them. I had 2 craftsmen oil-less compressors before I bought these dewalt compressors. The reason I replaced them, was that I had to rebuild the craftsmen's compressors about every 8-9 months and they were very loud. So I though these dewalts would be great, just change oil as recommended plus they are much quieter. One lasted about 14 months and the other is still running but is starting to go out as well. So I don't think much of these compressors, plus I think you'll need a much bigger one as well. I think you need a 60-80 gal that is a continuous run, and the size would depend on how larger your projects are. Hope this helped.
A: You may be able to. I am not sure as i am not using it for that purpose.
A: No, not very loud . As with any compressor you will have noise . And with the size of the tank it does not run as much. Great product. Have mine for a year with no issues
A: It is pretty loud, my garage is connected to the house with a breezeway in between and I can hear it from inside the house.
A: I do not believe so. Alot lower than previous unit.
A: This was noticeably quieter compared to the last 30 gal I had. A conversation can be held while in use and works great!
A: No, much quieter than oil-less compressors, especially for its' size.
A: This 30 gallon DeWalt compressor is an oil lubed, belt drive unit. Typically the oil lubed units are quieter than most direct drive oil free units. It has a decibel rating of 75 dB(A).
A: I've had several similar compressors in the past. They were very loud. This DeWalt, by comparison is not "Loud" at all. I like it a lot, and it is very versitle. Just painted my Jeep with it. You'll like it.
A: Compared to what?
A: The advice I have followed, from various makers, including DeWalt, advise the use of oil specifically designed for compressors of this type. The reason for this is that compressors, unlike a car, do not have any sort of oil filtration system. Compressors do generate heat, but nothing like the heat in a car engine, which must cope with intense heat, and the products of combustion that can become very abrasive. Cars have oil filters which can capture these destructive elements, and the best synthetic oils for cars keep those abrasive particles in suspension, relying on the oil filter to capture them. But compressors of this type need to have oil that does NOT keep particles in suspension. Instead, compressor oil should "drop" any foreign material into the crankcase, where it will be removed by draining the oil after a specified number of "run" hours have been made. DeWalt specifies the number of hours before the oil should be changed. My advice would be to use oil formulated specifically for your compressor, especially following with the "run time" recommended for the first oil replacement. I wish I could offer an easy way for accurately recording "run hours", but I haven't found one yet.
A: You will want to break it in for at least 10 hours or so with the synthetic blend that's in it now. Full synthetic is great stuff, but it reduces too much friction and won't allow a proper break in. After that initial break in, drain the blend and go with a full synthetic. Be sure to drain as much of the original stuff out as you can.
A: This is an electric motor specifically designed for use with air compressors. This range of induction motors is developed to operate at 3450 RPM.
A: While the3 motor runs @ 3450 RPM, the pulley reduction system looks like 4 or 5 to 1, (just eyeballing it) putting the compressor itself somewhere in the ballpark of 700-800. Sounds good to me so far!
A: I bought this over a year ago and I actually run a small 4 man cabinet shop off of this one compressor with a 3 way splitter nozzle. It literally runs 8-10 hours a day 5-6 days a week for over a year and have had zero issues. Not sure the lifespan hours but it has more than paid for itself at least for my small business. Hope this helps.
A: Lifespan will depend on use. I am pleased with this purchase and this compressor should last me years. I've ran air guns, staplers, impact wrenches and air hammers off this compressor so far. It manages to keep up most of the time.
A: I have no idea. But it is a De Walt, so it should last many years if you take care of it. My last compressor worked faithfully for 26 years, where I so08@ld it.
A: Hey Mitch, Frankly I have no idea, as I have not owned or used my compressor long enough to honestly answer your question at this point. I can only tell you I have hope that it will last many years and Many hours, at my residence. I do know that I would only recommend this unit for residential use , and I don't believe it would handle commercial use.
