Answer This Question
A: There is a hole on the end of the blade you see it as a black little button on the blade. Remove the back and it will allow you to remove. There is a video on the page maybe you can get a good visual.
If you mean how to get a replacement blade as for purchase you can look up DWHT11719 .

Q:Hey... One review said you can only extend the blade one notch... this would be a deal breaker for me.... If this is true, is there a way to override this??? Thanks.

A: Not true. You can extend the blade all the way out, almost to the last notch. You can extend the blade fully on all snap-off blades.

A: You can extend it any amount. I think they were implying that extending more than one blade adds risk of blade breakage and the danger associated with that.

A: The blade can be extended all the way; however, it will stop before the blade comes out of the handle. I used to use these types of knives for cutting insulation. We extended them all the way out to do that. This knife will do the same. Don't hesitate to purchase this box cutter. It is awesome

A: Howdy Carson,
To remove the blade simply push the black button down and push the blade downward towards the hand (not the sharp edge).
When it stops, push down harder and pull out. You will notice the last piece of the blade has a hole in it.
Next you put the blade into the handle and place the blade clip into the hole of the new blade and push together.
Happy trimming,
Coach Dave

A: Pull the belt clip strait out of the back of the handle. The blade holder and blade can then be slid out the back.

A: There are two situations here; snapping off a dull section of the blade or installing a new 8-pc. section. Not sure which one you're needing to know so I'll cover each one. In both cases you need to remove the shiny 'blade snapper' at the rear of the holder. This tool also serves as a pocket clip and has a groove in the center of it. It's a little tricky sliding it out from the body of the tool (it's spring loaded), but it does come out. When using it to snap off a balde, extend the blade forward such that the line between the dull blade and the next-in-line sharp blade is just beyond the end of the body of the knife. Using the groove in the blade snapper, snap off the dull blade. If you're looking to install a new 8-pc blade (because you snapped off all the dull blades), remove the blade snapper and move the black plastic thumb slider out the rear of the body. Discard the remnant of the old blade and install a new 8-pc. blade ensuring the hole at the rear of the new blade assembly is placed in the post of the thumb slider. Re-insert the blade into the body and slide it forward far enought that you can re-attach the shiny tool.
