Q:What is the model # of the stand? It does not show a lower shelf like the DW7350 stand. Is it a lighter duty stand?

    Answer This Question

A:  The stand and saw shipped separately; both boxes arrived damaged and taped together.  While the saw was seemingly perfect out of the damaged packaging, the stand was both banged up and missing many components.  After making a few calls, I was advised to “make do” with what I had, and send receipts for all components needed to complete the assembly.  Needless to say, I built the stand as I thought it should look—including a shelf—but not sure what was supposed to come in packaging, because even the directions were missing.  I was not remunerated for purchased materials or my time.

A:  The model number on the stand is DW7350. Is the same stand. The lower shelf is not showing in the pictures for some reason, but it should be included.

        Answer This Question

A:  Your machine is wired for 120 Volts, 60 HZ alternating current. It is not recommended by the manufacturer, DEWALT to attempt to use an adapter or transformer in order to attempt to make the tool work at 240v.

Q:Can thickness planer plan boards that are uneven on both sides? Do you need to add shim or padding to make bottom sit flat before planning?

          Answer This Question

A:  You'll want to shim the spaces on the bottom side so when the roller presses down on it it doesn't bend.

          by|May 1, 2023

A:  If both sides of your material are very rough or if the material is cupped, bowed or twisted, your planer may not produce the desired result. Ideally, you should have at least one level face/surface on your material before you plane. Your thickness planer will work best with material that has been run through a jointer to produce one flat surface.

A:  It is wise to shim and adhere the board to a flat and true piece using double sided tape or CA glue to produce one flat/clean side, then remove from the jig run the other side thru. If you don't, the board will likely rock through the planer, and if by chance you are able to get a clean side, you will likely eat up lots of material and not get the thickness you are wanting. Hope this helps.

Q:Is the planer with the extra cutting blades, in/out feed tables, and a stand a 735 model? I am confused, one 735 model states 20,000 RPM while the others state, 10,000 RPM. Are they all the same 735 model 13" heavy-duty thickness planer?

                    Answer This Question

A:  We apologize for any inconvenience. If the model starts with DW735 that would be the model number of the planer and they will all be the same. If there are numbers or letters after the model, this is for different kits, accessories etc. DW735 specifications are: Powerful 15 amp, 20,000 rpm motor handles larger cuts in wider materials with ease. Three-knife cutter head with 10,000 rpm cutter-head speed delivers 30% longer knife life and makes knife change faster and easier. Two-speed gear box allows users to change feed speed to optimizing cuts per inch at 96 or 179 CPI.
