Q:Because my overflow pipe is basically a cap that screws onto pvc, the threaded part of the pvc stick too far into the bathtub for me to replace the gasket from inside the tub, as is typical. Thus, I need to either A) slit the top of the gasket and caulk, or B) cut the PVC and redo the assembly completely. Option A would certainly be easier and more economical.

A:  Thank you for your interest in Danco products. Our Danco 88350, Waste and Overflow Gasket, is made for waste pipe applications but we would not recommend altering or modifying the gasket in anyway. You can use silicone caulk around the overflow plate but would not recommend using it on the gasket itself.

                Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. There is no general area on how this is placed when installing. You will have to locate the opening on the side of overflow plate, the thicker end must match up to that opening.
