A: Their probably at approx. 1/4" thick steel (maybe tad more). I was impressed with their fit/finish as well.
My knee-jerk response would be to say Yes it can support shingle samples (assuming we are talking about home roof type shingles).
But...before I make a comment to feel better about my response being accurate, ;). Question back to you is how much weight are you estimating these 5-6 shingle samples weigh?
Cheers

A: These brackets are very heavy duty. I would be more concerned with ensuring you properly attach them to the wall to hold the weight you want to put on them. Make sure you go deep into the stud and consider something more substantial than a drywall screw to attach to wall.

A: This bracket is designed to fit 6" lumber which means the shelf is actually 5-1/2" deep. Any 6" board from the lumber department will fit.

A: Yes and no, I bought the 6” and 10” and bought matching 1x6 and 1x10 boards. The 1x6 board is more like 3/4” x 5.75”, so as long as you buy the matching “board” it fits perfect.

A: The measurement (6 inches) in the subject steel bracket indicates the maximum board width the shelf can support - i.e. 6in. It can always be something less of course.
I measured it in the store...
Hope this helps.

A: Yes, the bracket will accommodate up to 6"

A: Standard "blackened" drywall screws of the length you require.

A: Depends what you are affixing it to (i.e. wood screws for studs, self tapping metal screws for metal studs, etc.) and how much weight the shelf bracket will hold.

A: I used deck screws and screwed the brackets into the studs, the holes are beveled so the deck screw sat flush.

A: Don't recall - believe about 3.5 in. spacing. And, you will NOT be able to bend these - way to heavy duty! ;)

A: It is powder coated so rust should be minimal unless it is placed in a salt water environment like on a boat dock. Holes are about 3’ apart. You can drill additional holes, if you wanted to.
It is very strong and i’d image it “could” be bent into another angle with a vice and other tools.

A: The holes are approx. 2-1/4" apart. Mine is inside, so cannot say if will work outside. This is forged steel, not aluminum, so would have to be heated to very high temps to be bent.

A: very difficult without damaging the finish on the product. They are very heavy duty and would requies heating to bend.
by|May 17, 2019
A: The holes are roughly 2.125 inches apart. The brackets are powder coated which will protect against rust but not entirely prevent. These cannot be bent into another angle safely.
