Q:Can I use this to stand on while working in a garage? The floor is un-insulated concrete. I stand at a work bench, but constantly move over a 5 foot area, thought I might try two side by side.

Answer This Question
A: This mat is only designed to melt snow. So it only gets up to 30 degrees above the ambient temperature. We recommend using our Foot Warmer or Super Foot Warmer for indoor use on a concrete floor to stand on.

A: Yes you can. Not barefoot as it is a bit bumpy. I have this in front of garage door. I have 2 of the smaller ones in front of my 2 entrances. Those are smooth and toasty when I step out for mail or trash.

A: You could do that, but you would get very little cushioning for your feet and leg joints as these mats have no cushioning give. I suggest shopping in the Commercial Floor Mats department. You will find Anti Fatigue mats that will also provide insulation from the cold.

A: It is not theft proof. However, it is fairly heavy and bulky to carry around.

Q:How long should it take for the mat to heat up?

Answer This Question
A: The mat works best if you start it an hour or two before snow begins depending on how far below freezing the temperatures are that day. If you start the mat after it is covered with a couple inches of snow it will eventually catch up but you will have quite a long wait.

A: About 30 minutes to 1 hour.
