Q:What is the actual cutting thickness 4 or 6

    Answer This Question

A:  Branch thickness capacity is determined by how much of the saw blade remains outside of the branch's diameter at its thickest point when cutting and how easy it is to make the cut without falling out of the cutting channel. The tool can cut a 6" branch, but care would have to be taken with short pull strokes when working through the thickest part of the branch as only 2" of the blade

Q:When this 8" saw folded, can you see the teeth of the blade? I know the 10" does.

      Answer This Question

A:  Just a few of them, but not wherein they could reach and cut your skin. It's a curved blade. Just a function of the design, but not a bad one.

A:  You can see only part of 8 teeth when the 8" is closed. You can not see any of the points on the saw blade. Hope that helps.

Q:7 inch vs 10 inch, is the only difference just the size? Is one better or worse?

          Answer This Question

A:  The 10 inch blade, and I believe the 8 inch blade as well, is curved. This makes it ideally suited to pruning and wood processing...just cutting a mess of firewood. The 7 inch blade is not curved but is a straight blade. This is ideal for fine notching for traps, triggers and other "bush craft" projects. What you loose to a shorter straight blade in wood processing speed, you make up in weight reduction and greater ease in finer bush craft type work. It just depends what you decide is more important to you.

A:  Hi John, I did not find a 10 inch version of the Corona Pruning Saw, but I found a Fiskars 10 inch Pruning Saw. They are very similar in design and are both a great value. Corona offers their Pruning Saw in 7 and 8 inch folding versions. Corona also offers a 14 inch non-folding saw. Corona Saws are of the highest quality, and if a more compact blade is desirable, this saw may be a great choice. Compare these two saws here: http://www.homedepot.com/p/compare?errorURL=ProductAttributeErrorView&langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053&prodComp_0=204667606&prodComp_1=202343683&keyword=pruning%20saw Thank you for asking, -Travis

A:  The saw you want depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to cut small trees and large branches at home, the 10" is better. If you want something for the tool box, backpack or smaller tasks, the 7" is more handy. I have both and the cutting power of the 10" is better but it comes at the cost of more weight and bulk. The 7" is plenty for camp and trail use.

A:  The Corona pruning saw has Razor Teeth, which are offset and sharpened on three sides. The blade teeth are then impulse hardened, which holds the sharp edge longer than blades that are not heat treated. The Corona Razor Tooth saws are highly regarded by users. They cut cleanly and quickly. Thanks for the question - Kelly B.

A:  I have not had any issues with the screws falling out. They do sell replacement screws on the website and maybe you could use some thread locking glue to keep things tight.

A:  I have not had any issues with that screw falling out but I have only had it a few days. The screw goes into a locking nut so it shouldn't fall out.

A:  I have not had that problem. I used the saw to trim over 25 bushes in backyard and screw is still tight. I attached a photo of the screw we are talking about.
