A:  Professional cleaning is taking this rug to a rug cleaner as they are able to identify the yarn in the rug to properly clean it. This rug contains jute that's woven into the backing and jute absorbs water permanently so soaking this or shampooing this would ruin the rug and why we indicate not to soak this. If there's a stain then mild water and detergent but again be sure NOT to soak. If you have disinfectant wipes like Lysol, you can try that as well on the stain area. Other than that, regular vacuum cleaning and semi annual rotation in terms of cleaning/maintenance. You are welcome to reach out for more details if there are anymore questions.

A:  The rug cannot be soaked as the jute yarn incorporated into the backing will absorb the water and expand causing irreversible creases. Have you tried to spot clean it or use a Lysol wipe in the area that is dirty/stained?
