A: I cut these all the time for my lamps. I use a jewelry saw with #1 or #2 blade I believe

A: It is cut very easily to a desired length with a hacksaw. If you are asking if they will cut it to length at the store, i think the answer is no, but you'd have to check at your store. They cut lumber, plywood, wire, chain, and rope, but I don't think they cut things like this that are pre-packaged.

A: Yes it can

A: Yes. Remember to put a nut above the cut, so it will clear the metal shavings from the threads.

A: I do not know if Home Depot carries longer threaded pipe for lamps of not. I buy it in an emergency when I need it. My usual supplier carries longer pipe, but it takes 3-4 days for shipping, which is not always convenient. Hope this helps.

A: We do handle lamp pipe kits with threaded poles larger than 12".
by|May 5, 2023
A: This is something that the company will have to answer. I did not see any longer than a foot. There are couplings, however.

A: Lamp pipes are the same outside diameter and thread as standard 1/8" iron pipe, but because they are not required to hold fluid pressure they are made with thinner walls. The inside diameter of this particular pipe (the item in the picture) I measured at 0.274". The ID of 1/8" Schedule 40 pipe is 0.269". The outside diameter of unthreaded 1/8" iron pipe is 0.405". Because lamp pipe is made as an all-thread the unthreaded OD is not found on the pipe. The OD of the threads I measured at 0.395".

A: This is a standard 1/8 I.P. pipe which has a specific outside diameter but does not have the inside diameter defined by this specification. The inside diameter is slightly larger than 1/8".
