A: Thank you for your interest in our products! Our products are intended to be there until you are ready to remove them and would expect success when installation and weight limits followed. This product will work best on flat, smooth, solid, sealed/painted surfaces. Along with the surface being cleaned with rubbing alcohol and installing lights that weigh ounces. A: They work on aluminum gutters; so, unless siding is textured and provided it is throughly cleaned before application, they should work.

A: Thank you for asking. Yes any of our Command Hooks maybe painted. Please make sure to following the dry/cure times of the brand of paint being used, before applying our adhesive to the freshly painted hook. With some the paint technologies, it may require 7-30 days for the paint to full cure. A: Yes but it will be a very tedious process since you have to cover up the parts you don’t want painted. Also, the tape for the backing isn’t very good, that the hook falls off after a few weeks (I used it hang my iphone charger cord and that’s not heavy at all).

A: I used my clips on C9 or C7 bulbs and they have been holding up very well now for about a month. The clips hold up the wires, not the bulbs themselves, which is fine for how I wanted to hang the string around a doorframe.

A: Hello - Thank you for asking. These clips can be used with string lights. We recommend placing the clips no more than 24" apart.

A: Yes, it will hold your lights as long as the surface is wiped clean and dried very well.
Package instructions recommend this step before setting each hanger.
I have personally found, that high humidity determines how well it sticks.

A: Yes. I have C9 bulbs hanging from mine. Just make sure to use rubbing alcohol to clean the mounting surface before. it does say wait one hour between mounting the clips and hanging lights to them. My clips are mounted to siding with no issues so far.

A: I attempted to use them for icicles (on exterior) but dont think I cleaned the dirt off well enough or the lights were too heavy. Ultimately I went for the white universal clips...they work for tile and shingle roofs

A: I live in Central Maine. I left mine mounted on the underside of my front porch roof, and most have stayed for at least two years. Important to clean off grime before mounting.

A: Yes. I have had mine attached to wood trim across my screen porch to hold Christmas lights. They have been left in place for a few years. Only one so far has needed a sticker to be replaced. Also use them to hang medium wreaths on my porch windows and they have held well. Just be sure the surface you put them on is clean and dry first.

A: As long as the surface is relatively smooth it should be no problem to hang them on wood surfaces.

A: I attached mine to a wooden doorframe. They are staying up so far, but I cannot say what will happen when I have to try to remove them. I have never had a problem with removing 3M products from a surface, but outside painted wood might be different.

A: They’ll hold up. Just be sure the surface you’re sticking them to are clean. I’ve had a few of these that have remained in place for years and we reuse every year.
