Q:Will this pump work with sprinkler heads for a garden?

Answer This Question
A: Maybe, depending on the type of sprinklers. This unit would be best running some large pasture sprinklers and would be way overkill on something like drip tubing or small systems commonly used on vegetable gardens these days. The engine likes to run at medium to high speeds and pushes enough water that it is very effective as a fire fighting pump.

A: Maybe too much outlet pressure I would not use it in my garden

A: Not a booster pump. It will deliver lots of water and it requires a steady pool of water.
Great for emptying a pool or flooded basement.

A: We do not fully understand your question unfortunately. However, we believe you are referring to a self-cleaning system. If so, unfortunately this model is not equipped with a self-cleaning system.

A: It will pump water not ice.
by|Dec 12, 2019
A: I don’t know the answer. Question i would have is whether hookup flow produces sufficient volume to prevent ice buildup during flow and whether unit is completely drained and stored in above freezing environment before any internal or external parts freeze. Good luck finding answer. Perhaps call the manufacturer.

A: Oh, yes you can. I bought this machine almost two years ago and shipped it to Africa to be used on my water reservoir. It still works today. Of course, it is not being used daily but it has worked well so far.

A: My pump is a couple years old and starts right up, always run all the gas out of carburetor before storing.

A: Hmmmm. Only thing I can think of is if you dont run unit out of gas before storing it is, carburator might have gotten plugged from gas in the carburator varnishing ports. These are tools we might not use frequently, so I always before turning off the unit I shutoff the gas and run it out of gas. Meaning carb shut be empty of fuel when not used. Had mine for years with no issues. Local small engine shops rebuild carbs for little money.

A: 1. Storage? Water damage? My two cylinder engines get carburetor choking from nesting animals--(mice, wasps).
2. Check the plugs for clean spark gap.

Answer This Question
A: Yes but it had better be a larger sprinkler than the typical home types. This would be suitable for a larger sprinkler such as the type used in irrigating pastures, etc.

A: Yes, this runs a water sprinkler
by|Apr 23, 2019
A: Possibly. This is a semi-trash pump designed to draw water (suck) from one location and pump it elsewhere with the ability to lift about 20 feet. It is not a pressure pump.
If you have a relatively flat landscape, and wanted to drain a pool or draw from a pond, and disperse the output via some connected and plumbed up sprinkler heads, yes you could do it. Keep in mind that the pump will send though unfiltered water, and anything it sucks in, will get sent out and may clog any sprinkers quite easily. Perhaps a commercial filter system might be needed, or be vigilant to keep an eye on it.

A: This tool is not intended for that purpose, it is meant too extract water not to pump under pressure. Your sprinkler will need more pressure to work.

A: Yeah, it worked for that. I had to make an adapter from a threaded pvc coupler to a garden hose connector (sorry, don't remember size). There was a lot of pressure from sizing it down, suitable for running a sprinkler.
