A: We cannot advise on installation or application questions outside of the boundaries of the capabilities of the cable itself. Those would need to be directed towards a licensed electrician for consideration within national and local code and regulation.

Q:Can I use this wire for a pool heat pump or should I use #8 hard wire? the wire will be run in pvc conduit with a 50 amp breaker but my question is hard versus stranded is there any difference?

Answer This Question
A: Flexibility is the primary difference. They are rated the same however we do not offer a solid 8awg conductor. Generally, once the conductors get beyond 10g, stranded becomes the preferred or the only option due to the solid being difficult to work with. In this case the stranded wire will work fine.

A: I am a master electrician. You will not get the correct advice from Home Depot or this forum. Surely the idea of do it yourself wiring to a pool is a bad idea when you think about it. Hire a licensed and insured electrician.
