Answer This Question

A:  Yes, this can be used. If you're going to be unplugging it often, we suggest a different box like B125AB and mount it to stud using the old work predetermined holes. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Carlon-1-Gang-24-5-cu-in-PVC-New-Old-Work-Electrical-Box-B125AB/305110267

A:  I plan to use one for a plug on our covered deck. No water will reach the plug but it also goes inside of a wall anyway so you should be able to use it.

A:  Yes this is an electrical box designed to go inside a wall. The weatherproofing is provided by the type on cover that goes over the plug or switch. A:  I’m not sure that would make a difference. The box is plastic not metal.

A:  No, that is not necessary.

A:  If the device installed in the box is wired properly, and the ground wire is attached to all pigtails , this is NEC code, and is sufficient.

                      Answer This Question

A:  Nope it requires a 1/4" to a 3/4" plate such as drywall to clamp on to it. There is a metal junction box which has a clamp that can reach around the thicker cinder block webs to secure to it. Look for Home Depot Store SKU # 910597 This will do the job!

A:  It’s not outdoor rated so you run the risk of moisture getting in. When it comes to electrical it’s worth the couple extra bucks to get the outdoor rated boxes. A:  This is an old work or remodel box. I have never had occasion to use more than one or or two of these at a time and so I have never had occasion to purchase them by the carton.
