Q:What is the operating temperature range for this unit outdoors? I would like to use it during the winter months. It can be subzero temperatures at times. My concern is the water within the unit would freeze in between usage.

A:  My experience is the water Will Freeze inside the unit. I have this at my remote cabin in the Colorado Rockies. First summer it worked great. Drained it and left it in place when I shut down for the winter. When I reopened the cabin in May all the seals had frozen and cracked. I had to replace the unit. This year I brought the shower back with me and am storing in a temperature controlled environment. I believe the manual advises against use below freezing.

Q:Can this be used with a pressurized source of water (from maybe a bladder or tank?) and if so, will a battery operated standard water pump (like a 12 vlt RV water pump) supply sufficient flow/pressure to properly operate the unit? Is it safe to use the unit for 3-5 minutes a day, indoors - if well ventilated?

A:  I installed this unit in a remote location. I use a 40 gallon Rain Barrel that connects to a 12 volt on demand pump. The water has to be pressurized as the unit provides no suction.. It is designed to run outdoors with a hose connected to an outdoor faucet which usually run at 70 psi.

                  Answer This Question

A:  Yes, but you will need a garden hose adapter fitting to fit the 1/2" NPT water out pipe. I needed to replace the cheap water inlet hose adapter provided so you might need a couple of the fittings up front and save yourself a trip back to the hardware store. Be aware that this unit can provide very hot water and you probably should make sure that whatever hose you use is rated for "hot water".
