I installed a Triton 10L in an off-grid bath house by my yurt to provide hot water to my shower. The Triton installs easily. The hose adapter fitting provided for the incoming water would not seal so I replaced it with one that would. The Triton is installed inside the bath house out of the wind & elements. The bath house is very well ventilated so there is no problem with CO when the unit is in action. It takes 40deg F spring water to 110-115deg F very quickly (like 20 seconds!) and provides a very stable supply of hot water for showering. I've had it in for less than a month which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. I would like to see how it holds up for a full year before getting too carried away early on with a 5 star rating. I am, however, very pleased up front with the install and operation to date.

Brand new out of the box. Hooked everything up correctly. Fresh propane tank. It would ignite but that is about it. The water came out cold no matter what adjustments I tried to make. I tried the hose and then tried recirculating the water with an appropriate pump. To no avail. Water temp stayed consistently at 59 degrees out of the shower head. I am so disappointed. They need to go back to the drawing board on this one and refund everybody who is unfortunate enough to have one of these. I’m getting rid of it ASAP and moving to a different brand. It is just an expensive lighter. I would do better boiling water in a pot.

This worthless device will not stay lit, no matter which settings or adjustments are used. The burner goes out at the slightest whisper of a breeze. I have literally worked for hours on getting this piece of junk to do what I paid for it to do. I would give this thing a -5 (negative 5) rating if it were possible to do so.

We owned this exact unit last year and it worked fine. When we hooked it up to use this year it leaked like a sieve! So we ordered a new one. I ordered this unit about 2 months ago. The flame lit like it should and heated the water fine for about 10 minutes. After about 10 minutes the flame went low and never heated the water! We changes out the propane bottle but this was not the problem. It just never worked properly and never heated the water.

I like the unit but it doesn't make the water more than warm. I have to turn the flow down on low and the heat as high as possible to just make the shower comfortable.

Easy to hook up, had to adjust the water and heat to maintain pressure and heat. Exactly what we needed for outdoor shower!

This water heater is fantastic! I installed it as an outdoor shower in our pool area in under an hour. It’s been working reliably for a month now. We have it on the lowest settings and it produces super hot water. I highly recommend this unit. Our friends think it’s the coolest setup and several plan on getting one.

Works great, even at 8,000 ft elevation. Sometimes wind blows the pilot light out. It’s easy to get it relit by turning off the water and turning it back on. The water gets hot hot hot

This product is as simple of a water heating machine as a person can ask for, minus a fire pit heated water platform. However, it was very easy to hook up, install, test, and apply to our project. It is almost a "plug and play" item. (1) Connect one tube to propane tank, check for leaks (2) Connect water output line to water output (3) Connect water input line to water input (4) Install fresh (D-cell) batteries (5) Turn switch to on (6) Turn water source on, and presto...heater comes one when it senses a water source and everything else is adjustable with a few simple switches. This was purchased to make hot water for my wife and her ranch style hot tub. So far...she loves it, and I love it because a HAPPY WIFE = HAPPY LIFE...

Did not meet expectation. Did not work properly because it never heated the water. Send me a new one free and I'll re-evaluate! I know this will not happen.

It did not heat the water as promised. I am going to make sure I did everything right and then if it still doesn't perform as expected I will be returning it for a full refund.

I've only had it for 2 weeks and I'm already having problems with it. Flame keeps going out. No matter how I adjust the knobs water is too hot when it does stay lit.

Only issue with this one: the shower head was damaged internally and had to be replaced. Not a big deal, had one in stock. Problem was, could not get the unit to ignite, swapped out the regulator, no luck. swapped the propane tank, no luck. Swapped the shower head with another unit and it fired. The shower head I had replaced with had a small O ring that slightly restricted the flow. Removed it and all was well. Use caution if using a different shower head other than the one with the kit.

I purchased this one to replace the same model and it does not get hot at all! Nothing like the previous unit I had purchased 4 years ago.

I bought one last summer and when it got cold it would spark but not light under about 60 degrees. Hooked it up again and now won't light at all. Didn't even last a whole summer

mine is going on 2 years and still works great no complaints

i bought the HWD10 in hopes it serve a few years as a dedcated camp shower. ive had to go without a shower for a week on two occasions now, for lack of available replacement parts. i will up my rating for cooperation in getting repair parts. without parts i will buy another heater for a shower, just not a camp chef brand.

The Camp Chief Triton 10 was easy to set up and provides an great source of hot water for showering. The only draw back is that the burner is sensitive to gusty winds and the flame gets blown out. It is easy to restart the burner by just turning the spray off at the hand wand and restarting.

Heater works very well. We are enjoying hot showers. The flame blows out occasionally when there is a breeze. We installed a filter due to sediment in our system.

it works great. off Grid life with a hot shower is awesome. I may buy another one soon for my brother. Very easy to set up. it should come with a water hose. it needs a washing machine hose to connect the cold water hookup.

Overall it works okay. Takes lots of adjustment to the water flow and temperature gauge to get the water temp at a good point. It leaks quite a bit from the hose. The shower hose split open the second time I used it. Had to replace/buy a new one. Overall, not sure its worth the money. The stand on which it stands is a wobbly piece of junk.

I've had it for six months. Aluminum pipe split open and no longer holds water. Took it to home depot and they said" not our problem", call the company, waste of $200 dollars

For a portable water heater this product exceeded my expectations. The unfortunate thing is that I am using this with a pump and a water tank. The water flow is so great that I would like to decrease it further but cannot with the pump that I am using (meets the pump specification recommended in the instructions). Using this pump will drain a 16 gal container in less than 3 minutes with the heater set on the minimum water flow for the pressure switch on the pump. I would recommend a lower flow pump than recommended. If you are not using a pump and are receiving water from a continuous water source this thing is perfect.

Have only test run it at my home. Using it as a portable camping shower powered by a Jetflo pump. Hose adaptor fitting that came with it was junk. Had to replace. Battery compartment for the ignition seems a bit frail but time will tell. Tests were great. Plenty of warm to very hot water on demand.

I bought this for use with my RV, after my original water heater gave out. It arrived quicker than originally estimated. I hooked it all up, outside my bathroom window, on a rack, running the shower hose in through the window to the shower. I did have to purchase extra shower hoses, plumbers tape, and nipple connectors to make the span work, but that was very easy. During the test phase to set water pressure and temperature before running the line inside, I discovered the shower hose that came with it, had a hole in the side of it! They are sending a replacement, no questions asked! It works great! The book says outdoor installation only, but protect it from the elements when not in use! I ran into the auto supply store, and picked up a 30-32 inch spare tire cover, and it works perfectly to slide over the unit, completely covering all exposed areas of it! The cover also slips off easily when I want to use the unit. I shut the water connection off, turn off the lp tank valve, and flip the off switch on the unit before covering. I just got it, have used it several times since set up, and am in love with it, so far! It was very easy to set up and adjust, I hope to see that it lasts a good long time!

We read a lot of reviews and did our research before buying this water heater, and we are glad we went with this one. This is used for our outdoor shower, which is the only shower we have at our cabin at the moment. Easy set up, and works great. We have been using it for several months & have used very little propane. The water gets plenty hot to be able to shower when it's cold outside. The flow and pressure are good and it does the job.

These water heaters are AMAZING! We've got both the 5 liter and the 10 liter. Both are terrific, but the extra money for the the 10L, is worth it. They work with pressure of about 35-30 PSI, which is pretty minimal, and you can get the hottest water if you turn the flow to low, and the heat to high. Main issue is that they blow out when the wind blows, so make sure it's pretty calm if you want a good, nice shower. Or build an enclosure to block the wind. There's nothing better than taking a hot shower at deer camp!
