              Q:How any company can have a built-in tstat that is not capable of being manually turned to the OFF POSITION blows my mind!? Especially since you sell this separate swappable T-Stat for all those same heaters. I guess u trap ur customers just to make an extra $25 lol. Maybe u'll change ur ways when ppl start goin elsewhere for their products!!

              A:  You can use a wall thermostat such as a T522 or any double pole thermostat in this case just order the unit as a CSTC402W (at a lower price) it will have no thermostat and you can purchase a CTT2W separately and add it. The vast majority of customers do not need or want the double pole thermostat but we do have it as an option. So doing it this way would be my best advice. Thank you.

                A:  X202 has been superseded. You will want to order a CS202T that will give you a safer unit with a new thermostat onboard. You will use the same wall can and grill but update all the internals...

                  A:  Thanks for the reply, but has the X202 actually been recalled? The following article does not mention the "X" series of models: https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2000/cpsc-cadet-recall-in-wall-heaters-settle-lawsuit If not, there is no way I am going to spend $100+ on a completely new heater that we only use a few times per year in our cabin. So again, will this thermostat fit the X202 model? It looks identical but I don't know about the screw spacing.

                    A:  The heater you have is an older model, the screws may not align exactly but it will work, I would recommend to upgrade to a newer model or use a wall thermostat.
