    Answer This Question

A:  Hi Joelia, This is not a plug in this needs to be hardwired. Glen Dimplex Americas Customer Experience

    by|Nov 21, 2022

A:  There is no cord, so you couldn't "plug this in." You could repurpose that line and use it to run power to this heater. You'll want to let an electrician do it, but they can disconnect the wire from the 220 plug and run it to this unit instead. You'll have to put a "blank cover" on the plug's old box or do a small patch job on the sheet rock to cover the small hole left behind. It's good that you already have the wiring run. That's what costs so much. This should be a real quick job for a knowledgeable electrician.

Q:Can this baseboard heater be mounted on a wooden baseboard? My husband says we need to take the baseboard out and mount it on sheetrock, for fire safety reasons. Thank you.

            Answer This Question

A:  I recently renovated an entire house with these heaters in every room. All were mounted on sheetrock with the wooden baseboard cut out. That's how the original heaters were installed, so we replaced them the same way.

Q:can three units be daisy chained together or only two?

              Answer This Question

A:  Best practices demand that you install multiple heaters in parallel and observe proper wiring size and fuse/breaker size charts. Daisy chained implies a series connection and is likely prohibited by code in your area. This is especially true if the heaters are not all the same wattage.

A:  This unit cannot be recessed or mounted into a wall. This would cause the unit to over heat or super heat the surface it is mounted in resulting in an unsafe condition. I recommend install as described in the manual only. Thank you.

A:  The unit will generate heat but it depends on your thermostat for the operating range. Also the size of your space. We typically recommend 10 watts per square foot in a well insulated space at sea level. I would recommend calling in and speaking to one of our experts at 855-223-3887 and they can help you get specific and give you great tips to make this work. Thank you.
