      A:  No, they are hollow in the back and only have about 1/8" thickness of material.They are just a molded plastic shell.Get some wood ones.

      A:  You can trim them since they are vynal. It will leave an opening at the bottom so you may have to put a spacer at the bottom since the structural lip will be removed.
