A:  No nails. It comes with color matched 3 inch plastic pins about 1/4 in diameter. You drill holes through the shutter and the siding or brick, then tap the pins into place lightly with a hammer.

A:  YES you most likely will, They way the hardware is packaged ..... it will probably fall out while being transported. I purchase 8 sets and two were missing all of the hardware, the box endcaps were torn loose in shipping and because the plastic bag of hardware is added AFTER the shutters.....they fell out.....BEFORE you accept a package that is open in some way INSPECT, INSPECT, INSPECT!!!!!

A:  No, fasteners come with the shutters. However, you may want to fasten the shutters to the outside wall of the house with long screws (or such) of your choosing to make sure that the shutters stay on the house in a strong wind etc.

A:  The shutters came with screws but they are not of the best quality. I bought stainless steel screws to avoid rusting.

A:  I used 6 galvanized deck screws for each shutter, one each corner, and one on either side at the mid-line bar going across the shutter. I spray painted the heads black before mounting. (Screw the screws into a piece of cardboard is an easy way to minimize over-spray clean-up.)

A:  You have to drill your holes based on where they align with the mortar.....BUT.....Don't plan on getting all of your hardware and INSPECT EVERY BOX that has a torn endcap or hole in it. They don't sandwich the hardware between the shutters in the box.....they just add them to the box after the shutters AFTER have been packed?????????????????? THEY WILL FALL OUT!!!

A:  Thank you for your interest in Builders Edge product. Because of the construction of the product you would not be able to trim the sides of the shutters. The actual measurement for these shutters is approximately 14 1/2 inches. In addition, this would void the warranty on the product.

A:  It's vinyl, so it can be cut easy, but you loose integrity... Make sure to visualize your design, before cutting.
