Q:Are the louvers open or solid construction?

A:  The louvers are open.When you receive your boxes CHECK THEM if the end caps are torn open. I was missing a lot of the installation hardware and Home Depot keeps deleting my review because i tried to warn people. Apparently they only allow good reviews.

    A:  They painted beautifully. Looks just like my wooden shutters which were considerably more expensive. Good experience.

      A:  The company says no, that you should order custom colors if you don't see what you want. However, they are plastic and I bet you could prime them with Rust-Oleum or Krylon spray paint made for plastic and then paint with your desired color.
