Answer This Question
A: It is a solid and real wood door, no sawdust glued together, just natural wood. Really pretty when stained and varnished.

Q:Can the door be cut to be narrower (i.e., does it have wooden rails), and if so, by how much? My existing door is 27 5/8 inches so I need to reduce the door size by 3/8 of an inch.

A: Yes, no problem cutting it down to 27 5/8" but suggest you take half from each side so as to keep an even look. If not experienced at woodworking, have a carpenter do the cutting.

A: Our recommendation would be to cut an 1/8" from each stile. Each stile has a 1/2" solid wood edge.

A: Yes, you may cut the door down, remember the latch side must the beveled to clear the jamb.

A: Yes, I would guess you could cut up to two inches on each side but it is a heavy door so nice to have room for longer screws.

Q:Another door (pine) that is sold by Home Depot is a solid slab no veneer. I am looking for a solid door with no veneer as an interior.

Answer This Question
A: This is a slab door with panels all made from solid wood or plywood.

A: I don't think this door is pine. Whatever it is, it looks great. Doesn't feel flimsy. I found that good, solid doors are expensive. The panels on this door look good, but if you need a slab this isn't it.
