Answer This Question

A:  Hi there, Thank you for contacting AHF Products. Color names are unique to an individual model number; therefore, Spice Tan will have a different formulation than Warm Spice.  To better assist with a comparison of two Bruce floors, please feel free to contact us by email or phone and provide both floor model numbers.  Our email address is productsupport@ahfproducts.com; phone number is 1-866-243-2726, Monday through Friday from 9am to 4:30pm, EST.

Q:How long do you have to let the floor acclimate before you lay it out?
    by|Oct 20, 2023

    Answer This Question

A:  Hello Debbie! Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your question. There is no definitive acclimation time frame. However, prior to installation, solid hardwood flooring should be stored in the environment in which it is expected to perform.  Deliver the materials to an environmentally controlled site. The wood subflooring must not exceed 12% moisture content. Using a reliable wood moisture meter, measure and document the moisture content of both subfloor and hardwood flooring to determine proper moisture content. The difference in moisture content between the wood subfloor and the hardwood flooring must not exceed 3% for strip and 2% for plank. Acclimate the hardwood flooring on or off the job, as necessary, to meet these requirements. Store in a dry place, being sure to provide at least a four-inch air space under cartons which are stored upon "on-grade" concrete floors. Flooring should not be delivered until the building has been enclosed, with windows and doors in place and until cement work, plastering and other "wet" work is complete and dry. Once again, thank you for contacting AHF Products. I hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm EST by e-mail at productsupport@ahfproducts.com or by phone at 1-866-243-2726.

A:  Hi there! Thank you for contacting AHF Products. The use of a minimum 3/8” plywood subfloor when installing solid hardwood flooring over a concrete slab is highly recommended.  If you must direct glue to concrete, we recommend Bruce Summit Select adhesive.  Please click on this link below to view complete installation instructions which includes information on concrete subfloor requirements:   https://tinyurl.com/2s3mw4cv I hope this information is helpful. A:  Hello, Thank you for contacting AHF Products. Use a blind nailing machine designed for installing 3/4˝ (19 mm) hardwood flooring with 1-1/2” or 2” staples or cleats, 16 gauge. The nailing machine must have a protective foot attachment to prevent edge bruising and finish damage. I hope this information is helpful. A:  Hello Jake! Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your question. Unfortunately, this product is not considered waterproof and we don't have recommendations on anything that can be added to this to allow it to be impervious to water. I would reccommend talking to the Home Depot flooring associate about our Bruce Hydropel product which is a waterproof engineered hardwood floor we offer. Once again, thank you for contacting AHF Products.
