Q:Why does this say you can refinish only up to 3x? One of the benefits that drew us to solid hardwood was the ability to refinish pretty much indefinitely, at least long past our own lifetime. Is this solid hardwood different than others?

Answer This Question
A: Hello Michael,
Thank you for contacting AHF Products.
We only recommend refinishing our solid hardwood products three times during their service life, because the more you refinish the thinner you make the product.
If you refinish too many times this can make the boards too thin and cause a plethora of structural issues.

A: Hello Edward,
Thank you for contacting AHF Products.
The Bruce American Vintage Scraped Fall Classic, model SAMV5FC, is a ¾” thick, solid hardwood floor and as such does not have a top layer thickness like an engineered hardwood floor would have.

Q:Will the American Vintage Light Spice Oak (SAMV5LS) be available again for order?
I was looking at the American Vintage Fall Classic Oak (SAMV5FC) as an alternative.
Would this be a comparable option if the light spice oak is out of production?

A: Hi there!
Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your question.
Both floors are part of the same collection, they will have the same specifications. There will be a difference in color. The Bruce American Vintage Fall Classic Oak model number #SAMV5FC will be darker than the American Vintage Light Spice Oak.

Q:Can new baseboards be installed a week *after* the hardwood install? We've heard it might need to be installed the same day, but I can't clarification in the install instructions or warranty document.

A: I assume you're talking about baseboard trim. I installed this flooring in my entire upstairs and didn't get around to installing trim for months. I had no issues at all when I finally did get around to it. I don't see any reason why you can't wait as long as you want to install trim after the floor is down.

A: Hi Mia! Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your question. Installing the baseboard would be appropriate to do after the floor has been installed with the appropriate expansion space of 3/4". A: Best case scenario, you need a pneumatic flooring nailer, a good rubber mallet, miter saw and some patience. I installed floors in 3 rooms with this flooring, and had never installed hardwood before. It turned out terrific. You'll love the final result.
