It is designed to be installed underneath or inside of a cabinet so it is not the best option with your existing shelves. A:  Externally vented means the air it removed goes up venting pipe to outside. Internally it would just remove and recirculate the air.

There are two models that Home Depot.com carries. Both models are part of our Elite-Series hoods. To view these models, simply type in one of the following models on the Search All field: 637004 (the Elite 63000-Series), or E5490SS (Elite E54000-Series).
