Answer This Question

A:  The cable is doubled when fully extended so I estimate @12’ but because of the doubling it has @ 6’ reach.

A:  The cable diameter is 3/16"

    by|Apr 17, 2020

A:  I believe it is 1/8 in. The unit broke the second time that I used it. Cable came out of the drum. Fortunately I did not have a heavy load on it at the time.

Q:Can I pull a 1.5 ton car out a ditch with this tool?

      Answer This Question

A:  Hi Charles... Potentially you could depending upon distance and if the vehicle is stuck in something like trees or mud. I would be very careful as the 2 ton limit is what the tool will pull for weight flat, you could snap the cable which is dangerous under stress. I would highly suggest a large winch or come-along for pulling cars out ditches. If you do use this be careful pulling that kind of weight. Hope that helps...

A:  The "breaking strength" of this cable is 4,200 pounds, but the "working load limit is only 840 pounds!

A:  That depends on the angle of the ditch and if the tires are sunk into mud or anything. Have someone in the vehicle trying to drive it out at the same time, to lessen the stress on the tool. You also need a chain or rope and pull in a straight line.

A:  The cable is 8', but runs over a pulley, so this unit extends 4'.

A:  The maximum length, hook to hook, is 6 feet. The shortest is 2 feet. Therefore, 4 feet between resets. I use chains to add length, as necessary.
