Please be advised that the smaller opening will reduce the size of the walk-through width as the panels will overlap slightly more than intended for the 40"-44" space. You can also always visit your local Home Depot store and speak with a trained associate to create a custom shower door order for a precision fit!

The height will be perfect, but your space, however, with your space being slightly wider than the listed opening (40-44"), the installation of this door in your shower space could lead to an increased chance of leakage between the glass panels. You can still install this door, but be aware that the panels will overlap less in the center, and more water may leak outside. That said, you have the option to visit your local Basco dealer (such as Home Depot) and speak with a trained associate to place a custom door order to get a precision fit. You may also speak with them and order this standard-size door, while adding a custom filler.

If your shower opening is 44 inches or smaller, you will be good to go with this door.

A:  Hi Brian, thank you for reaching out. This model would technically work for your space, IF you use fillers to ensure a proper fit. However, we don't recommend it. The better thing to do would be to visit your local Home Depot store and find a trained associate and have them place an order for you manually. We have this exact door model at a 44-47" size range and would it would be perfect for your space. A:  Hi Carl, thank you for your question. This door fits a width range of 42-44. The top header and bottom track will need to be cut on-site. For a 42” opening the walk-through distance will be about 16” when the door is in the open position.
