Q:How much weight can this hold without a ceiling anchor? My shower stall is 32X 40. I am wondering if I need to have an anchor or not. If it does require an anchor how does that work with closing the shower curtain? Thanks

A: It will hold normal shower curtain and liner. It's not designed to do pull ups on! If you find that the rod is bowing add the ceiling flange, it's not a difficult project.

A: I wouldn't know since I used a ceiling anchor. If not using a ceiling anchor, I would make sure that the mounting screws were in a solid stud and I would use longer screws.
