A: You can have the deadbolts "keyed" to match multiple sets. In my case, I already had Baldwin in the house so I had the new deadbolt "keyed" to match the house locks.

Answer This Question
A: Baldwin does not offer keyed entry sets (key directly into a handle) that get a key on both sides of the door. Baldwin does not make any locks intended for gates or double cylinder keyed entry sets. If a product needs to be keyed the same as current sets, provide the key # found on the side of the original key and request that the new set be keyed to that 5 digit #. Home depot can place the order at their special order counter.

A: A locksmith can re-key this set as long as you currently have a Baldwin Hardware set that you are re-keying the new set to.

A: Hello 324mcr, I’m Chris from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question.
Actually, you don’t necessarily have to own a Baldwin lock in order to have this new lock re-keyed.
What you will need is a key that will physically fit the new lock’s keyway. For example, many Baldwin locks use the same key blank as Schlage locks do. The Baldwin locks we sell at my store all use Kwikset style keys. As long as the key you currently use will fit the new lock you buy, a Home Depot Hardware associate can re-key your new lock to it.
This particular lock you are looking at appears to use a Schlage style key. Have the lock shipped to your home and try your old key in it. It will not operate the lock, but if it fits into the slot chances are good that we can reset the cylinder pins to make it work properly.
Chris.
