Q:How long does it take to charge?

Answer This Question

A:  It was plugged in and charged for a few hours the first time. Have only used it for drilling pilot holes for screws. In this case it lasted almost all day. Well over 100 holes in mostly pine, 3/32" bit. After it got low we recharged it for only about 15 minutes and finished the job. FYI if you want fast charging get an li/ion battery drill. My Ryobi batteries charge full in about 20 minutes.

Q:drill batteries....ni-cad vs lithium ion, pros and cons??
      by|Nov 23, 2016

      Answer This Question

A:  Lithium Ion are the most durable and don't have much of a memory so you can charge them without them being totally dead. Nicad batteries on the other hand work best if you don't leave them in the charger and let them completely die before charging them completely full. Nicad batteries also lose their charge over time much faster than lithium-ion. My 1 + Ryobi batteries last well over 6 months charged and the sitting on the shelf. The few nicad batteries I have left typically don't hold a charge for even a month. Some nickel cadmium batteries do have an initial higher output but it slips off really fast. I do have a Matco impact driver half inch that uses nicad batteries. My buddy has the current model impact driver that uses the ion batteries. His unit is rated better than mine. But my unit with a full charge will take off a Harley compensator nut in 2 seconds. My buddies you and it just makes a bunch of noise and does nothing. That is the only case that I've experienced nickel cadmium being better.

Q:How long does it stay charged?

A:  I will take few minutes the most 20 min

      by|Jan 20, 2019

A:  Difficult to say. It's only been used to make pilot holes for screws so far. About 30 holes using a 3/32ths bit were drilled through drywall and into studs. Worked well for this. NiCad batteries work best if you use them almost dead. Then fully charge and then stop charging. They will lose power on the shelf, but it takes a while. So far this battery has had enough power to get simple jobs done. Don't leave charging. That will eventually seriously degrade the battery. Really great for basic short happy home owner jobs. Not a professional grade tool. Excellent for the price.

A:  The initial charge takes at least 8 hours I let mine charge overnight and it was fine. I used it initially without charging and it died after an hour or two. I advise you let it charge overnight.

A:  I pretty sure I bought this drill with an AC cord to recharge the battery, unfortunately, I can no longer find the AC cord to recharge the battery. Any ideas? I don't want to buy a $30 charging station....that would cost as much as new drill!

A:  No case; battery is removable, but I haven't found a charger base for this model battery, so removing it is pretty useless (unless you have multiple batteries you want to swap).
