A:  According to Bessey, they are predominately made in Germany and they draw out their own steel. I would prefer made oin America, but I don't know of a readily available product, domestically made that compares with the price and quality of Bessey.

A:  We have quite a few of these clamps. We can not tell any difference between the new ones, and the older ones. They all look the same. You can contact the manufacturer to determine reason for the labeling change.

A:  I'm guessing the new handle will allow you to have better/more grip which allows more pressure to be applied. That's just a theory though. They physically appear the same.

Given the price and absence of any other info, I am assuming China. The specific model number that is laser etched on the bar is: GSCC3.524. The Bessey website also doesn't immediately clarify even when you search for that specific model number.
