Answer This Question

A:  Hello tdukes, thank you for your question. We do recommend allowing your coating to dry for at least 24 hours before exposing it to light foot traffic. However, that's in reference to your final coat. You are able to walk on your surface to apply your second coat after the recommended minimum 4 hour recoat time. Hope this info helps. Feel free to reach out to us directly if you have any other questions or need additional assistance. Good luck with your project. Have a terrific Tuesday! -Joanna

A:  Hi ME, Thank you for your question. The UPC number of the product can be found on the side of the can from the product; it's a serial number that is used at checkout when purchasing the product. I hope this was helpful. -Edith

A:  Hi Mocha, Thanks for writing in with your question. The DeckOver product should not freeze in storage. If the product freezes and thaws, it should no longer be used. Have a great day! Regards, Giovanna

A:  Hi Kir, I have only used this product on a wood deck. It bubbled, and peeled in most locations destroying the wood underneath in the form of rot. I would highly recommend everyone stay far away from this product! If it fails as it did with me it will be super time consuming to remove and redo it.

A:  Hi kir, Great question! As it turns out, DeckOver can't be driven on. Instead, I recommend looking into 1-Part Epoxy, Solid Color Concrete Stain, or Granite Grip which can all be driven on and are great choices for driveways. Best of luck with your project! ~Doris

A:  One year, then plan on replacing your deck since this pruduct MAY fail and will Rot Your Deck !!!!

A:  Please read what I just posted in reviews. I'm sure retreat time varies considerably, and it's my guess that any job will require some touch-ups after a year or two. Be aware that the paint color fades with time, so any spot touch-ups will be a fresher color than a weathered finish. In my case my deck required retreat after only one year, but I believe I left open grain the first time that allowed water to do further damage. Actually, it might have been 2 years. Let me check.... YES! June 2014 was the first time. Anyway, after 2 years I had quite a bit of open grain in my plywood sheathed deck. I just applied another two coats after sanding and cleaning. I feel that I achieved better grain sealing this time around and that the actual Deckover coat thickness will only increase as I apply additional coats as needed over the years. With over $3000 and 2 weeks work invested in building the deck back in the 90's, it is well worth $200 to $400 every few years (if needed) to keep the deck whole.

A:  Depends on how many coats you put on and how much direct sunlight your deck gets. I put 5 coats on a rooftop deck in DC that was absolutely punished by the elements. It lasted for about 5 years in that harsh environment.

A:  Hello MVS, We appreciate your question. We don't have a set timeframe of how long this coating will last since that can vary by degree of wear exposure or climate. However, in any case, we stand behind this product with a limited lifetime warranty. This means that for as long as you're the owner or tenant of the property from when our product was applied, we'll look into getting you Behr replacement products to fix any issues or refund you for the initial purchase. Proof of purchase would be needed for that, of course. Best wishes for your project!
