A:  Hi Carol, thanks for the question, I'd recommend repairing any areas where the wood is rotting before applying the Advanced Deckover. You can check with your local Home Improvement store to see what products they have to repair the wood. After the wood has been repaired, I'd suggest cleaning the entire surface with our All-In-One Wood Cleaner before applying Deckover coating. Have a great day! -Ronald
