Q:Can I use this to paint metal bleachers? If I can, what paint would you recommend to use over this primer? I would prefer a satin finish

Answer This Question
A: Hi Keri, thank you for your question. The primer can be used on metal; however, we do not have any products to recommend on bleachers, as bleachers will get a lot of traffic, including people stepping and standing on them. We do not have floor coatings that can be used on metal. I suggest checking with your local store for a recommendation on a suitable product to use. Have a great day! -Giovanna

Answer This Question
A: Hi Katrina, thanks for the question. For smooth surfaces such as metal cabinets, you would need to scuff sand them first to help with the adhesion of the primer. You can then use the paint of your choice to paint over the Direct to Metal Primer. Good luck painting your metal cabinets. -Ronald

Q:Can this primer be thinned and sprayed with a hvlp sprayer?

Answer This Question
A: Hi there, thanks for the question. We don't recommend using our products with HVLP sprayers as they tend to be thicker than what the sprayer will accept. We recommend using an airless sprayer with a .011 - .017-sized tip to spray the metal primer. Also if needed, you can thin the primer with up to 8 ounces of water per gallon. Have a great day! -Ronald

Q:Two questions: Does it level nicely, or leave thick brush marks? I'm painting a hydronic radiator, will it tolerate heat and expansion and contraction?

Answer This Question
A: Hi Topher, thanks for your review. While our Metal Primer provides good coverage and does not leave brush marks, we don't recommend using it on a radiator. It's not designed for surfaces that become too hot to touch and may begin to fail if used. Instead, it's best to find a radiator primer for your project. Have a great day! -Christina
