Q:If applied to a wall, could this help reduce sound of the traffic on the other side of the wall?

    Answer This Question

A:  Traffic noise is low frequency - this product type will only provide slight help with that. It isn't thick enough, it doesn't have enough mass, it would have to be isolated from the remainder of the room, etc...... No cheap solution to this problem. Look up how recording studios prevent sound from traveling - the subject is too complicated for a short answer.

A:  This product helps the acoustics within the space it's applied. It doesn't keep sound from traveling to another space.

              Answer This Question

A:  Charlerny, Good morning... Unfortunately you can't cut these panels. They're wrapped with fabric and if you cut them you'll have an unwrapped panel on one side.

A:  Yes - most thin fabrics are transparent to sound - so the sound will not reflect from them.

A:  This is not a "soundproofing" product. This is an acoustic panel that helps get rid of things like reverb/echo to enhance the overall sound quality of the room.

A:  To eliminate noise is a very high standard - it would require a 2nd sheetrock wall - installed in the same way as a sound recording studio. There is no simple, or inexpensive way to do this - although if you DIY, that drops the cost quite a bit. This product type is not useful for sound elimination - it modified the qualities of the sound as described.
