Q:Can it be installed without the strip on the other wall? The plumber installed the linear drain where a fixed glass was planned to be installed. Now the only solution is to install a hinged glass ( like a door) in order to be able to remove the drain for cleaning. Also the fixed glass is not an option anymore as it needs to be attached on the floor.

Answer This Question
A: Hi Lissette - thank you for your interest in Aston. This question isn't completely clear, but we'll try to answer. Regarding your layout issue, the CASCADIA Completely Frameless Shower Door Collection is a single-panel hinged design. There is no fixed glass component involved. All Aston Frameless Shower models are engineered to be installed and functional as described in the manual. Also, we do not recommend pairing this door with existing frameless glass in your shower alcove. If by strip you mean our clear vinyl edge leak-seal sweeps, than they must be applied as intended. As our team is not present in your bathroom, and professional installation is required, you should consult your trusted contractor with this question.

Q:My shower opening is 22 3/8 at the bottom and 22 9/16 at 6 feet. The models say they go from 21.75 to 22.25 and 22.75 to 23.25. What about 22.5? Should I buy the 22" model and will there be enough adjustment or will I need to buy a wider strip for the seal opposite the hinges?

Answer This Question
A: Hi AJ - thank you for your interest in Aston and the CASCADIA Completely Frameless Shower Door Collection. This specific model has a +/- .25" adjustability from plumb. So, when properly installed, it can fit finished alcove widths 21.75 to 22.25" wide. Unfortunately, with both your measurements, this 22" x 72" model will not work in your alcove. The 23" x 75" will not accommodate your bottom width. We do not offer a 22.5" x 72" model. HOWEVER - we do offer a KINKADE XL model that is 22.5" x 80" tall that would be a better option, but you must have a 80" high clearance at the minimum for this (compared to 72"H). Professional installation is highly recommended with all Aston models, with at least two adults taking part in the process as our showers are heavy. This is not a 'DIY' project for the vast majority of homeowners. Thank you!
