A: I believe it is 90 day returnable. But no 100 percent on that, I usually notice when things I order aren't and that's not the case here.

Q:Is the installations easy for this ? And do we have to make a hall through the wall or ceiling if its colonial house ?

Answer This Question
A: Hello,
The installation is definitely something a homeowner can do.
The hood can be installed either ducted out or recirculating. Ducted Out requires you to run ducting from the hood to the outdoors (either through the ceiling or wall). Recirculating does not require ducting to the outside. A KIT must be purchased which provides a carbon filter and a deflector. The carbon filter removes smoke and odors, the grease filter removes grease and moisture. The deflector is installed near the top of the chimney and redirect the "cleaned air" back into the room thru grates in the duct cover.
I can't attach documents via this portal. Send me an email directly and I will gladly send you the installation manual. Email is m.holmes@elica.com. Or you can download the installation manual off the Home Depot website. Go to Arietta Dekor Glass and there will be a download section. Lastly, if you wish to recirculate, you need to purchase the recirculation kit. When you buy the hood, the recirculation kit will be shown as an available accessory. Be sure to get the 6" version.

Q:What is the distance from cooking surface to the vent hood
by|May 18, 2016

Answer This Question
A: We recommend our hoods be mounted.....
No less than 24" over the countertop, if using an electric cooktop or range.
No less than 30" over the countertop, if using a gas cooktop or range.
We recommend these distances to protect the electronic controls.
by|May 3, 2023
A: I have an electric range, and it stated 24-30" above surface. We set it at 27" so that it hid the hole of the outlet we tapped into. But, I've read with a gas range you need to be at 30-36".
by|May 4, 2023
A: This model needs to be installed 30'' above a gas stove.
by|May 3, 2023
A: I installed it with 30" space between the bottom edge of the stove and the cooking surface. It can be installed with 36" clearance but then it may not be as efficient at sucking up odors.

Answer This Question
A: The electrical hard wires are in a junction box, at the top of hood, near the duct transition (where ducting is connected to the hood).
Do you have the hood? If yes, refer to the installation instructions. You can also download the installation instruction from the HD website, via the Dekor Glass product page. I can send the instructions to you as well. Simply let me know. Good illustration is on Page 21.

Answer This Question
A: Hello
At its min height, and mounted 24" above the cooktop, it reaches 6'8" ceilings.
If your ceiling is shorter than 6'8", you could cut the duct cover but can be tricky to make a perfectly even cut. Some recess the duct cover into the ceiling or hide the cut with wood trim pieces. It has been done a variety of ways.
Hope this helps.

A: I installed it so there is 30" between the bottom edge of the fan and the stove. It's bottom is 28-1/2" from the ceiling.

Q:Does this unit come with a back draft damper (a.k.a. No return valve.)?
by|Apr 8, 2016

Answer This Question
A: Sorry for the late reply.
No our hoods do not come with a No Return Valve, however, it's available as an accessory.
BE AWARE there are two No Return Valves available on Homedepot.com. Be sure to choose the 6" version.
A year or so ago, we converted the transitions on our hoods from 8" round....down to 6". You need the 6" version no return value (KIT0102873) to work with the 6" duct transitions.
We only keep the old 8" version online for customers who may have purchased a hood a while back when we had 8" transitions.
